Tolt Away Farm welcomes Mrs. Hanna Adams, a Certified Trainer, Level C from Germany into our team.

Hanna has been around horses all her life. She started on a Shetland Pony, but by age five Hanna was riding Trakehner horses already.

In 1997, Hanna fell in love with her first Icelandic Horse. Since then, she has pursued her dream to do more with these amazing horses from the land of fire and ice.

She attended several clinics with highly qualified trainers with her horse ELSKA-Ofeig von Berlar and also joined the German Icelandic Horse Riding "Kader".

Hanna qualified with her horse in Berlar in 2004 for the Sport A Class and then again for the German Championships. Sadly, her horse was injured shortly before the event and they were not able to participate.
Hanna became a TRAINER, Level C, Certification in Germany 2005.

As a Trainer, Hanna loves working with both children and adults. She is facing the challenges of proper training techniques and the re-training of the more difficult of horses with enthusiasm.

Erhard Marenbach is the head trainer at Tolt Away Icelandic Horse Farm. He is a National Sport Judge and National Breed Judge for Icelandic Horses.

Erhard's specialty is getting young horses started, going through the paces. He combines Natural Horsemanship with modern Icelandic Horse Training methods. Erhard also does the training for driving and riding of our horses.

At the last breed show, the first time ever in Canada, our mares took home a first prize total for a Canadian bred mare and three second place prize mares. The three other horses from our farm, who were shown at the event, just missed second prize placement by 0.1 points.

Erhard is an "autodidact per excellence" and is intuitively able to understand and communicate in the language of the animal in training. For many years, he was working with and correcting German Shepherds with training issues in Schutzhund and obedience. This knowledge and his personal enthusiasm towards animals make it easy to diagnose the cause of a problem and then introduce the right level of correction.

Erhard works with reassurance for the young horse, but is very strict in his education as well. He is always fair to the horse, but demands respect. His persistence in quality training was now rewarded with 1st Place of Jodis and the 2nd Prices from the other mares and were proof of the validation of his training techniques and ethics.
